This is your year to be extremely successful! I’m sure you have heard this statement at least a 1000 times this year and the year is just getting started. Although you may have heard this many times already the words probably resonate with you. Why, well because you want them to be true. Everyone wants to be successful at something. But the problem is most people measure their success based on someone else’s definition of success.
To be honest I was guilty of doing this. I would see someone who I admired and I would say to myself ohhhh if I make it to their level then I’m successful. I didn’t know what it took for that person to get to where they were and I didn’t even know if that was what I really wanted to do. It just looked good and I went with it.
So needless to say I spent many years and wasted a lot of time chasing after someone else’s success. It wasn’t until one day I realized I was spinning my wheels trying to reach a goal I didn’t even want. Bummer!
I had to regroup. So one day I sat down and came up with my own definition of success, which included feeding women and children in Africa and speaking hope into the lives of women all over the world. Guess what? When I defined my own success I realized I had already done both! The blessing in all of this was it showed me that I was already successful and I didn’t have to keep chasing someone else’s definition.
In this week’s episode of Courageous Living I share with you that chances are, you too are further along in your journey towards success. Happy watching!
